Weekly cadence

8-10 hrs a week including lectures, projects, live sessions, and events.

  • Early-week: Watch weekly lecture (on-demand), and ask your coach any questions.

  • Mid-week: Work on real-world project with support and detailed feedback from coach. Attend expert talks, career panels and community sessions.

  • Weekend: Attend live review session with your coach and squad, share insights and discoveries.

Lecture topics

  • This class focuses on the why of Net Zero: firms doing what they can to keep the planet below 1.5 degrees of warming. We cover carbon emissions trends and sources (industry and country), the concept of a carbon budget, and the consequences of exceeding this key planetary boundary. We also cover the strategy process including the net zero value chain, competitive positioning, corporate goal-setting, resourcing, and messaging.

    Portfolio Project: Evaluate and Rate a Corporate Net Zero Plan

  • A required skill for all climate-related roles: accounting for GHG emissions with missing data. Accounting for carbon emissions requires making assumptions born of standards and understanding. We take you through a hands-on example of using GHG accounting.

    Portfolio Project: Bridging Data Gaps in GHG Accounting

  • We cover materiality, and how to get the most decarbonization for time and money invested. The week focuses on analyzing actual net zero plans to evaluate their carbon reduction initiatives, with a focus on identifying the most material ones.

    Portfolio Project: Analyze the Materiality of Carbon Reduction Initiatives

  • What avenues do corporations have for emissions reductions across the product life cycle, including “scope 3” emissions by supply chain producers? This module covers the shift to renewables and carbon reduction initiatives across the supply chain including transportation, product design, end-of-life usage and scope 2 operation emissions.

    Portfolio Project: Net Zero Plan Assessment with AI Integration

  • The less corporations reduce outright emissions, the more their Net Zero plan may rely on offsets and as-yet unproven technology. This module covers how to evaluate and purchase offset credits and how a Net Zero plan can create more transparency around carbon capture assumptions.

    Portfolio Project: B-Corp Net Zero Plan Assessment with AI Integration

  • This week covers how to make a compelling pitch for implementing your net zero plan. How Net Zero modelling works, the development steps in a proposal, and how stakeholder alignment can improve adoption.

    Portfolio Project: Develop a Net Zero Strategy

  • Learn to compare, assess, and select reporting standards that work best. These reporting standards include GRI, TCFD, CDP Reports, and ESG Ratings. Understand how these reports relate to investors, and how the choice of rating/ reporting framework matters to the corporation.

  • We explore innovative tools for implementing a net zero plan across the organization. This includes covering the innovation ecosystem, the analysts role in company innovation, and the competitive advantage that comes alongside corporate innovation.

  • We focus on coaching you to take charge, problem-solve and give advice. It can be an intense experience, one you’ll look back on when you’re famous.

  • In all our programs, you’ll squad up with 8-15 peers and a coach. The squad will get together to share insights and discoveries. Peer interaction accelerates learning and creates belonging. All learning should be this way!

  • Our Leads are top alums who we selected to stay on. They know the programs and process inside out, and they are empathetic to pivoter goals. They provide intensive feedback and mentorship on each project and foster community. Our participants consistently tell us the Leads are the best part of the Voiz Academy experience.

  • We believe in learning over teaching. That said, our Co-Founder, Diego Espinosa handles instructional lectures dealing with product life cycles, corporate practices, circular design, net zero, ESG fund analysis, and more. Diego and Co-Founder Yvonne are also senior career coaches in the Climate Career Accelerator program. Together, they are two of the most experienced climate career coaches in the space.

  • We designed our programs to fit into the busy lives of professionals and post-graduate students. Most of our alumni tell us the projects get easier as you cycle through them, and that the weekly commitment is about eight to ten hours.

  • Our 8 week programs cost $1,290. Our Design your Climate Career costs $1,490 and involves intensive career coaching. We offer early bird and university/post-grad student discounts — see the program pages for details.

  • If you cancel your participation at least seven days prior to the cohort on-boarding date, we will refund 100% of your tuition. However, if you cancel with less than seven days remaining, we cannot offer refunds. In such cases, you do have the option to defer your participation to a future cohort.

    Please note that on or after the on-boarding day, we do not offer any refunds, whether full or partial. Additionally, deferrals to future cohorts will not be available.
